Sponsors

Without sponsors no study trip to Canada! Therefore we want to thank all sponsors that made it possible for us to go on this study trip. Let us introduce you to the following research groups and companies.

Physics of Fluids (POF)

The Physics of Fluids group is studying a wide variety of flow phenomena, both fundamental and applied, and we combine experimental, theoretical, and numerical methods to solve problems in fluid dynamics. The range of topics goes from nanobubbles to accretion disks, from granular flow to medical flow, and from wind turbines to microfluidic chips. The problems we study generally get their complexity from phase transitions (boiling, cavitation, melting, dissolution), rom particulate additions (particles, bubbles, droplets), from chemical additions (surfactants, pH), from gradients (salinity, thermal, veocity), from boundary conditions (pinning, (de)wetting, superhydrophobicity), or material properties (elasticity, plasticity). Complexity can also arise from very small scales or very high velocites, which can be solved by using the latest high-speed cameras, (confocal) microscopes, and high speed lasers, or by simulating the problems.

NanoElectronics (NE)

The NanoElectronics Group (NE) performs research and provides education in the field of nanoelectronics, comprising the study of electronic and magnetic properties of systems with critical dimensions in the nanoregime. In particular, we focus on brain-inspired and quantum electronics

Universiteitsfonds Twente

The University of Twente Fund has been supporting innovative research and education projects for 75 years that would otherwise lack the necessary funding, including this study trip. This is made possible through the generous contributions of University of Twente alumni and other supporters.

Nederlandse Natuurkunde Vereniging (NNV)

The Dutch Physics Society (NNV) is the professional association for physicists in the Netherlands. Our mission is to promote the practice of physics and the dissemination of knowledge for the benefit of society. We are an active, professional organization with over 4,000 members. One thing unites us all: a passion for physics!

Energy, Materials & Systems (EMS)

The research cluster Energy, Materials and Systems (EMS) research is application oriented and greatly benefits from its internationally recognized expertise and unique infrastructure on applied superconductivity and cryogenics.

MESA+ Institute

At MESA+, we believe in realising grand solutions with the extremely small. We contrbute to solving current and future societal challenges. We do this by using our fascination with the extremely small. We bring societal challenges inside and use our fascination to work on innovative and sustainable solutions. We focus on societal challenges in four impace domains: Climate, Health, Safety & Security and Chip Technology

Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC)

The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) is where world-leading researchers, students and partners come together to explore, understand and advance quantum information science.

From computing and communication to sensing and materials, our work drives the discoveries and innovations that will shape future economies.

Through global collaboration, hands-on training, breakthrough research and educational outreach, IQC is turning quantum research into real-world scientific and commercial impact.
