Tuesday 14 July

University of Toronto

On the 14th of July we will visit our first university, namely the UoT Scarborough campus. Here we will have some presentations about the Sullan lab which focuses on developing multifunctional nanomaterial-based antimicrobials. After that we have a tour at the Centre for Microscopy and Bioanalysis. Then after lunch break we will continue our visit at Ruby’s AFM lab and have a panel with their students too.

Wednesday 15 July

Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC, Waterloo)

On the 15th of July we will visit IQC. Here we will have an introduction about IQC itself and a workshop with using equipment in Quantum Explration Space in the morning. After this we will continue with lab visits of RAC and QNC.

Thursday 16 July

McMaster University (Hamilton)

On the 16th of July we will continue our trip at the McMaster University in Hamilton and visit the Canadian Centre for Electron Microscopy and the nuclear reactor facility.

Friday 17 July

Dutch Consulate (Toronto)

On the 17th of July we will visit in the morning the Dutch consulate.

Xanadu (Toronto)

In the afternoon on the 17th of July we will continue with a visit to Xanadu. Here we will get a presentation about Xanadu, and will have a tour of the main office and possibly of the hardware facilities.

Montréal

Monday 20 July

Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS, Varennes)

At the 20th of July we visit INRS, which focus their activities on strategic sectors such as Biotechnology, Materials and much more. We will have research presentations from the groups prof. Legare, prof. Boschini, prof. Azana, and prof. Roberto. Next to this labs of these groups will be visited

Tuesday 21 July

Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke)

At the Université de Sherbrooke we will visit three different research centers. Starting with Institut interdisciplinaire d’innovation technolgique (3!T). A research center for industry-university synergy in technological innovation. Here we will visit laboratories. After this, we visit the institute quantique dedicated to the exploration and development of quantum science and technology. As last we will visit DistriQ that has a partnership with the Université de Sherbrooke and aims to foster the development of quantum science and technology too.

Wednesday 22 July

McGill University (Montréal)

On the 22th of July we will visit McGill University in Montréal. During this visit we will go to 4 different groups. These are from prof. Grutter, prof. Chen, prof. Wiseman, and Prof. Sankey. Which are focused on atomic scale characterization of materials, photonics, biophysical chemistry, and optomechanics.

Friday 24 July

École De Technologie Supérieure (ETS, Montréal)

On the 24th of July we will go to ETS. Here we will have first a general electrical engineering lab visit. Further we have other labs and a network session organized by OPTICA chapter.

Calgary

Monday 27 July

Quantum City (Calgary)

On Monday the 27th of July we will visit quantum city at the University of Calgary in the afternoon. Here we will have a tour at the campus and much more.

Tuesday 28 July

Institute for Quantum Science and Technology (IQST, Calgary)

On the 28th of July we visit in the morning IQST. We will visit three labs from prof. Shabir, prof. Paul, and prof. Daniel.

Wednesday 29 July

University of Calgary (Calgary)

On the 29th of July we will visit again the University of Calgary. Now we will visit a Complex Fluids Laboratory first. After that we go to Nano/Micro-Sensors and Sensing Systems (NMSSS). And end the day at the group of Anne Benneker, and go over the campus with her
